R\u00e9veill\u00e9 un matin avec ces mots en t\u00eate \u00ab\u00a0he was a bandit boy\u00a0\u00bb, un texte a suivi assez rapidement (l’histoire d’un pauvre gar\u00e7on qui fait face quoi qu’il arrive), et la musique n’a pas tard\u00e9\u00a0; c’est en l’enregistrant rapidement (voir version 1) que j’ai r\u00e9alis\u00e9 que la phrase \u00e9tait une r\u00e9miniscence inconsciente de \u00ab\u00a0Pancho & Lefty\u00a0\u00bb de Townes Van Zandt. Avec la version 2, plus \u00e9labor\u00e9e, pour poser le morceau j’ai ralenti le tempo, et ainsi gagnant en rectitude je pense avoir perdu un peu du charme de la version 1, surtout sur les deux ponts.<\/p>\n

I woke up one morning with these words in mind, \u2018he was a bandit boy\u2019, and a set of lyrics followed quite fast – the story of a poor boy who always keeps a stiff upper lip, whatever happens – and the music didn\u2019t take long before coming to me. While I was doing a quick recording of it – see version 1 – I realised that the sentence had been an unconscious reminiscence of \u2018Pancho & Lefty\u2019 by Townes Van Zandt. With version 2, a more elaborate and controlled one, I slowed down the tempo, but doing so I\u2019m afraid I made it more direct and lost some of the charm version 1 had, especially on the two bridges.<\/span><\/p>\n
