Les paroles sont enti\u00e8rement tir\u00e9 des dialogues de ce film g\u00e9nial qu’est The Scarecrow (L’\u00e9pouvantail) de Jerry Statzberg avec Al Pacino et Gene Hackman (ne m’en voulez-pas, je n’ai pas demand\u00e9 l’autorisation, soyez indulgents, c’est un travail d’admiration). C’est au d\u00e9part une folk song (comme le montre la partie de guitare acoustique) qui a subit \u00e0 AYMF un traitement un peu radical. On en a chi\u00e9 pour les percussions, personne de la Motown n’\u00e9tait l\u00e0, mais J.R. s’est d\u00e9fonc\u00e9 pour les sons des guitares. L\u00e0 encore je me coltine les deux voix avec un succ\u00e8s plus ou moins mitig\u00e9, dans l’absolu j’aurais r\u00eav\u00e9 d’un duo Tom Waits \u2013 Bob Dylan, on peut toujours r\u00eaver…<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The lyrics are entirely drawn from the dialogues in the brilliant The Scarecrow, a movie by Jerry Statzberg with Al Pacino and Gene Hackman \u2013 please, don\u2019t grudge me, I didn\u2019t ask for the right to use them, it did it out of admiration. It is at first a folk song \u2013 as demonstrated by the acoustic guitar take \u2013, but it went through a pretty radical treatment at the AYMF studio. We had a fucking hard time with the percussion parts as nobody from the Motown was available at the time, but J.R. did his best for the guitar sounds. I sang the two vocal parts with a relative success. In a perfect world I would have had Tom Waits and Bob Dylan duet on this tune. Dream on\u2026<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
